Lumen is employee training that runs itself. Most internal training is busywork on both ends — admins re-assigning the same courses every time someone joins or moves teams, and employees hunting for what they’re actually supposed to watch. Lumen’s bet is that the software should carry that load, not the people.
It’s built as two clearly separated jobs. Admins build courses, scope them to departments, and publish; reporting comes for free. Employees sign in with their work account and find exactly what they’re assigned — nothing else.
Upload once, assign by department, track itself
Content goes in once: manuals as PDF or Office documents, training videos via fast streaming, organized into courses and lessons. Assignment is the quiet trick — connect Google Workspace and courses reach the right people automatically as the directory changes, so a transfer or a new hire is provisioned without anyone touching a spreadsheet.
Completion tracks itself too: watched-to-the-end for video, read-and-acknowledged for documents, rolled up per employee and per month. The design goal across all of it was restraint — a calm, near-empty interface that puts the one thing you came to do in front of you and hides the rest.
